On September 21, the main dosing workflow moved to a pre-set dose-reference design. The user selects age and an available weight, and the app displays reference values from tables prepared when the app is built.

What table lookup means

The main workflow reads precomputed values rather than performing dose arithmetic at runtime. It still presents the relevant route, limits and supporting reference information. Later September work expanded the available weight ladder and made the weight selector easier to reach from the dosing form.

This distinction is specific to the main dosing flow. Other named tools, including the separate Local Anesthetics tool, can perform calculations using their stated inputs. Describing the entire app as performing no calculations would be inaccurate.

What it means for the user

Check the selected age and weight before reading the results, then review the indication, route, applicable limits and source context. The availability of a weight in a reference table does not make that selection appropriate for an individual case. Do not treat table lookup as individualized prescribing advice.

The practical benefit is that the main dose reference remains available on the device without an online request. It also makes the distinction between a pre-set reference and an input-driven calculator explicit.

This entry records a software workflow change. It does not claim that changing the way values are retrieved provides clinical validation or establishes superiority over another reference.

Development dates describe the work, not necessarily the date it reached every public app version.
